Many artists and bands spend years trying to craft a signature sound. There are but a handful of bands that one can hear for three seconds and identify them instantly. With their debut recording, “Ivy Hall,” the new American jazz band - The Kolotov Mocktails - has achieved a completely unique sound. A singular combination of instruments, a deep well of talent, decades of experience, and great composing skills, have culminated in this stunning new recording. As much as critics and hard-core jazz fans love the band, their music is toe-tapping fun for general audiences as well.

 

The Kolotov Mocktails are: David Easley (steel guitar), George Mason (violin and guitar), Rob McKendrick (drums and percussion), and John Lang (bass). For this debut project, each of the band’s members contributed three new compositions.
 

Members of the Kolotov Mocktails have toured and recorded with such renowned artists as: Brian Blade, Walfredo Reyes Sr., Mulgrew Miller, Herb Ellis, Gino Vanelli, Andy Williams, Bob Hope, Amanda Cook, Col. Bruce Hampton (Aquarium Rescue Unit), Jack Casady (Jefferson Airplane), Brian Stoltz (Neville Brothers, Funky Meters), Coco Robicheaux, Ruthie Foster, Jorma Kaukonen, Tardo Hammer, Cady Huffman, Norm Lewis, Tracy Lawrence, Tracy Byrd, Johnny Duncan, Connie Smith, The Gatlin Brothers, Del Reeves, and The Oregon Symphony.
